L’estage has become, without peer, the most successful road rally driver in Canada, and one of the top in North America. Among his list of accomplishments include winning not only the Canadian and North American rally championships in 2010, but winning the Triple Crown as well, a feat won only once before in the history of the sport. And in the next four years, from 2011 through 2015, he was again both the Canadian and North American Rally Champion. In 2014 alone, he won all six events on the Canadian tour.
L’estage was exposed to rallying at an early age, and along with his siblings would watch his father compete, so it was a natural progression for him to get into a car for competition. He started in regional events in his home province of Quebec in 1995 and by 2006 was winning national championships, and to date has continued to do so, behind the wheel of a Hyundai Tiburon, a Mitsubishi Evo, and a Subaru WRX.
In a field of automotive competition which is conducted under the most extreme of weather and road conditions, the inductee has proven his world-class talent, crediting his success to hard work, skill, and a good team around him. And although he had his eight Canadian titles, he has no thought of letting up.
