Large-scale motorsport events take countless hours of planning, construction, and implementation, and Jim Tario has engineered one of the largest events in Canada, the Honda Indy Toronto.
For more than 30 years, he’s been director of operations for the race through the streets of Toronto’s Exhibition Place from the original track layout of the initial 1986 running, working with the first organizers and promoters.
His unmatched skill and expertise in track operations has brought him to work on other events in North America and around the world.
He is also responsible for overseeing the track build for the street race in St. Petersburg, Florida, and held a similar role when the Verizon IndyCar Series raced in Vancouver, Brazil, and San Jose California.
Confidently approaching changes, logistics and dynamics over the years, our inductee continues to help build and present some of the largest temporary racing venues in the sport, with high quality product safety and innovation, with national and world-wide recognition.
