October Canadian Motorsport Hall Induction Ceremonies Tickets Available on-line

Canadian racing fans wanting to rub shoulders with some of this country’s most accomplished motorsport personalities can now purchase tickets to this year’s Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame 2018 Induction Ceremonies in Toronto. October 20.


A celebration of Canadian excellence, this year’s induction event honours a new crop of inductees that includes champion competitors and significant builders whose accomplishments in motorsport have set them apart.


“Every year, our inductees demonstrate the impressive talent that Canada produces in all disciplines of motorsport, and this year is no different,” said Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame chairman Dr. Hugh Scully.


“We are proud to welcome eight Canadians who have made a lasting mark in motorsport and see them join the more than 200 exceptional individuals already inducted into the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame.”


This year’s inductees are:


  • Formula Atlantic championship winning engineer Doug Crosty;
  • Grand Prix du Canada promoter Francois Dumontier;
  • two-time NASCAR Canada champion Douglas James “D. J.” Kennington;
  • television producer and filmmaker Jim Robinson;
  • championship driver and race association official John Sambrook;
  • four-time NASCAR Canada champion Scott Steckly;
  • Honda Indy Toronto official Jim Tario; and,
  • Formula One world champion, CART champion, and Indianapolis 500 winner Jacques Villeneuve.

In addition, the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame Rising Star Award will be given to a young Canadian racer to be named later. Honda Canada has been named as the Internalization Category  recipient.


The 24th Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame’s Induction Ceremonies takes place at the Canadian Broadcasting Corp.’s Glenn Gould Studio in Toronto on Oct. 20, 2018. Tickets go on sale through CMHF.ca and are $95.
