TORONTO, ON (December 11, 2025) —The Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame (CMHF) extends its warmest congratulations to the new ownership group of Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP), led by Peter Thomson, with Chris Pfaff and Alek Krstajic joining as partners. The announcement marks a significant and exciting new chapter for one of Canada’s most historic and important motorsport venues.

Since opening in 1961, CTMP has been a cornerstone of Canadian motorsport, a track where legends have been made, careers launched, and generations of fans inspired. From hosting world-class racing to fostering grassroots development, the facility has long played an essential role in shaping Canada’s motorsport identity.

For the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame, CTMP is the long-time host of the annual Celebration of Speed, a signature fundraising event where CMHF inductees and professional drivers take participants on the ride of their lives. The event brings  fans, sponsors, and supporters together in a way that few venues can match, creating an unforgettable experience while honouring Canada’s motorsport heritage.

“Canadian Tire Motorsport Park is one of the most iconic and legendary race circuits in Canadian racing,” said CMHF Board Chair, Peter Lockhart. “Its history is woven into the stories of countless CMHF inductees, and its future remains vital to the sport’s growth. On behalf of the entire Board of Directors of the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame, I congratulate Peter Thomson, Chris Pfaff, and Alek Krstajic. We look forward to continuing our long partnership with CTMP, and to celebrating the next generation of Canadian motorsport excellence at this extraordinary facility.”

The CMHF applauds the new ownership group’s commitment to preserving CTMP’s heritage while investing in the long-term development that will guide the track into its next era. We look forward to supporting the continued evolution of a venue that has meant so much to Canada’s racing community.
