Denis Cadotte is a Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame inductee (2024) and has been part of the motorsport community for over five decades. He began his motorsports journey in 1978 when he served as a messenger in the press room at the first Canadian Grand Prix on Île Notre-Dame. He subsequently worked in all aspects of Formula One race organization—setup, rapid response, firefighter, emergency dispatcher, general manager of the Île Notre-Dame Automobile Club, and one of the team service managers.
Denis was also involved in organizing races at the Mont-Tremblant circuit during the Champ Car Series’ arrival and served as race director for all three events at the circuit—Spring, Summer, and Fall Classics—for eight years. He was also involved with the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières (GP3R) as part of the Canadian Motorsports Respond Team’s rapid response team, serving as team leader and coordinator. On the board of the FSAQ (formerly the ASQ), he served as Corporate VP for two years, where he was responsible for karting and ice racing.
In addition to his involvement with Formula 1 in Montreal, Denis was part of the NASCAR worker training committee when the series came to Montreal, as well as the organizing committee for the IndyCar race in Edmonton in 2011 and 2012. He has been a member of the Canadian Motorsports Hall of Fame’s Board of Directors since 2013, making him one of its longest-serving members.
