Anne Roy

INDUCTED 2020 - BUILDER, SIGNIFCANT CONTRIBUTOR

Anne Roy has been an iconic figure in Canadian motorsport for more than thirty years.  She began her motorsport career in 1989 as a reporter and interviewer at RDS, Quebec’s leading French-language sports network, where she covered the drivers and events that would go on to shape the Canadian racing landscape.

Her early experience in motorsport media laid the foundation for a remarkable career that led her to key communications and promotional roles within some of North America’s most significant racing competitions. Notably, Roy led communications for the Formula Atlantic series, which played a pivotal role in the careers of many prominent Canadian and international drivers.

From there, her leadership expanded onto the international stage. In 2011, she was appointed General Manager of the Edmonton IndyCar race, overseeing the organization and promotion of one of North America’s premier open-wheel events. Shortly thereafter, she became Communications Director for Lotus’s IndyCar program, managing media strategy and team representation for Jean Alesi, who was associated with one of the sport’s most iconic brands.

Beyond series-level communications, Anne Roy has also built a strong reputation as a public relations lead and communications advisor to some of Canada’s top motorsport talents. Her expertise has helped drivers such as Patrick Carpentier, L.P. Dumoulin, James Hinchcliffe, Andrew Ranger, Bruno Spengler, and Alex Tagliani effectively manage relationships with media, sponsors, and the public at the highest level of competition.

Roy’s contributions extend well beyond the paddock. She has been a passionate advocate for broader access and representation in motorsport and, in 2025, she organized and led initiatives that enabled young women and engineering students to go behind the scenes and take part in immersive experiences at major events such as the Canadian Grand Prix, the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy Toronto, and the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières. These opportunities helped them build direct connections with engineers, race management, and drivers—experiences many describe as transformative.

Throughout her career, Anne Roy has combined an in-depth knowledge of motorsport with an unwavering commitment to mentorship, inclusion, and professional development. Her leadership continues to open doors for emerging talent and to broaden career pathways in motorsports—whether in media, operations, or competition.
