Starting out as a racer himself, Bill Clubine used his past experience to become a mentor and supporter for up-and-coming drivers. Clubine started out in motorsports at 16-years-old, racing snowmobiles in the winter and motorcycles in the summer. He later competed in the Honda Michelin series, recording several wins and podium finishes between 1986 and 1989. His road racing career included success at the legendary Mosport Raceway.
With no family background or interest in motorsports, Clubine was responsible for funding his own journey in the sport. Having experienced those challenges in his own career, he turned his attention to helping the next generation of drivers. He established Clubine Motorsports Canada, along with his son Justin Clubine, to support up-and-coming Canadian drivers through a multifaceted approach that includes personal mentorship, marketing, advocacy and financial sponsorship.
One of those aspiring racers that caught Clubine’s attention is Mac Clark, the 2023 CMHF Rising Star Award winner. Clark started out in karting and F1600 in both Canada and abroad before racing in the F4 U.S. Championship in 2021. He then started out in the IndyCar ladder system, winning the USF Juniors championship in 2022 before moving up to USF2000 and USF Pro 2000. Clark said that Clubine’s belief in him and unwavering support “have played a pivotal role in my development as both a driver and a person. Quite simply, I wouldn’t be racing today without Bill’s help.”
Other drivers being supported by Clubine Motorsports Canada include sports car and open-wheel driver Anthony Martella and legend car racer Keaton Pipe. Clubine’s support for the Canadian motorsports community extends beyond emerging talents, with additional sponsorships that help honour and promote motorsports excellence in the country.
