Members of the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame’s Independent Selection Committee review the submitted nominations through the lenses of two scoring matrices, one for Competitors, Builders & Race Support Participants, and another for members of the Media.
The scoring matrices give weight to the various achievements, contributions and accomplishments identified in the submitted nominations so that they can be considered and scored in a fair and objective manner.
Individuals preparing and submitting nominations on behalf of individuals or organizations are strongly urged to review the relevant matrices with an eye to presenting their nominee in a way that corresponds to the importance of the different factors as laid out in the charts below.
Diversity of Location: List the locations / series / tracks that the nominee has participated – Do not list every event the nominee participated in.
Diversity of Types of Participation: List the nominee’s vehicles raced – eg. kart (regionally), sedan (nationally), formula (internationally), NASCAR (internationally). For Builder nominees, list the types of events.
Contributions to Motorsport: List the nominee’s significant contributions to Canadian motorsport, including but not limited to competing, sponsor, team manager, team member, trackside worker, race/medical team worker, official, track owner, race series managed or created.
Motorsport Honours & Awards: List the nominee’s championships, awards (example, Rookie Driver of the Year, Driver of the Year, and other awards related to motorsports).
Years of Involvement: List the total number of years that the nominee has been involved in motorsports.
Scope of Coverage: List where the nominee has operated (do not list not every venue) – provincial, national and/or international.
Diversity of Competition Covered: List the different types of competition covered – including but not limited to: amateur and professional racing; speedboat, drag, motorcycles open wheel, rally, sports cars, sprint cars, midgets, stock cars, vintage, karting, ice, snowmobile and airplanes.
Contributions (to motorsport) Outside of Media: List if the nominee was involved in – but not limited to: public relations and communications, roles at racing venues, sponsorship, ownership, driver representation, coaching, teaching, authoring, illustrating, publishing, volunteering, race safety/medical team and event work.
Honours & Awards Recognizing Motorsport: List awards for coverage – including but not limited to: Honours and awards related to motorsport, achievement awards, honourary memberships, induction into other halls of fame, and journalism awards.
