22 Sep SIXTEEN NEW MEMBERS TO BE INDUCTED INTO THE CANADIAN MOTORSPORT HALL OF FAME

TORONTO, ON – Following a successful nomination process conducted through the Spring and Summer, the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame (CMHF) is pleased to announce that 16 individuals will be honoured as new members.
Ten will be inducted in the Competitors / Motorsport Builders / Team Members / Significant Contributors category, with six more to be honoured in the Media category.
In all, more than 40 individuals and organizations – representing varied racing disciplines and regions across Canada – were nominated for consideration. Once the period for nominations closed, the CMHF Independent Selection Committees reviewed and scored the nominations, and recommended the individuals to be inducted to the Board of Directors.
The Board approved these candidates at its meeting on Thursday, September 16.
Commenting on this year’s nomination and selection process, CMHF chair Dr. Hugh Scully said, “We are very proud to announce this year’s ‘class’ of new inductees. We were very pleased with the quality of the many nominations submitted. I would also like to thank the members of the Independent Selection Committees for their meticulous work, carefully reviewing and scoring the nominations.
“I have had the great pleasure of congratulating each of the future inductees, either personally, or by speaking with members of their families. On behalf of the CMHF, we applaud the contributions of the new members to motorsport in Canada. And we look forward to welcoming them to the Hall. As well, on behalf of the Board, I am happy to name Marco Signoretti as our 2021 ‘Rising Star’ award recipient. His name will be added to the Hall’s group of talented young Canadian drivers.”

As mentioned, up and coming road racer Marco Signoretti will be recognized as the Hall’s Rising Star racer for 2021. The accomplished former kart racer is also a past Nissan Micra Cup champion and is currently excelling behind the wheel of Multimatic Motorsports’ Ford Mustang GT4 in the FEL Sports Car Championship Canada.
The CMHF Induction Gala is scheduled to take place during the Canadian International Autoshow (CIAS), in February 2022, in Toronto. The 15-member inductee class of 2020 will also be recognized at that ceremony, as the CIAS didn’t take place in February 2021 due to the pandemic.

SEIZE NOUVEAUX MEMBRES SERONT INTRONISÉS AU TEMPLE DE LA RENOMMÉE DU SPORT AUTOMOBILE CANADIEN
POUR DIFFUSION IMMÉDIATE (22 septembre 2021)
TORONTO, ON – À la suite d’un processus de nomination mené au cours du printemps et de l’été, le Temple de la renommée du sport automobile canadien (CMHF) est heureux d’annoncer que 16 personnes seront honorées en tant que nouveaux membres.
Dix d’entre eux seront intronisés dans la catégorie Compétiteurs / Constructeurs / Membres d’équipe / Contributeurs importants, et six le seront dans la catégorie Médias.
En tout, plus de 40 personnes et organisations – représentant diverses disciplines et régions de course à travers le Canada – ont été mises en candidature pour examen. Une fois la période de nomination terminée, les comités de sélection indépendants du CMHF ont examiné et noté les nominations et recommandé les personnes à introniser au conseil d’administration.
Le Conseil d’administration a approuvé ces candidatures lors de sa séance du jeudi 16 septembre.
Commentant le processus de nomination et de sélection de cette année, le président du CMHF, le Dr Hugh Scully, a déclaré : « Nous sommes très fiers d’annoncer la « promotion » de nouveaux intronisés pour cette année. Nous avons été très satisfaits de la qualité des nombreuses candidatures soumises. Je tiens également à remercier les membres des comités de sélection indépendants pour leur travail méticuleux, en examinant et en notant soigneusement les nominations.
« J’ai eu le plaisir de féliciter chacun des futurs intronisés, soit personnellement, soit en discutant avec des membres de leur famille. Au nom du CMHF, nous saluons les contributions des nouveaux membres au sport automobile au Canada. Et nous sommes impatients de les accueillir au Temple de la Renommée du Sport Motorisé. De plus, au nom du conseil d’administration, je suis heureux d’annoncer la nomination de Marco Signoretti comme récipiendaire du prix « Étoile montante » 2021. Son nom sera ajouté au groupe de jeunes pilotes talentueux canadiens du Hall. »

Tel que mentionné plus haut, le pilote de course en devenir Marco Signoretti sera reconnu comme l’étoile montante pour 2021. L’ancien pilote de karting accompli est également un ancien champion de la Coupe Nissan Micra et excelle actuellement au volant de la Ford Mustang GT4 de Multimatic Motorsports dans le FEL Sports Car Championship Canada.
Le gala d’intronisation du CMHF devrait avoir lieu lors du Salon International de l’Auto Canadien (CIAS), en février 2022, à Toronto. La classe d’intronisés de 15 membres de 2020 sera également reconnue lors de cette cérémonie, car le Salon de l’Auto n’a pas eu lieu en février 2021 en raison de la pandémie.
