Peter Lockhart is a veteran competitor with more than twenty-five years of road racing experience in Canada and the United States.  He has competed, and won, in a wide variety of race cars and series, including SCCA Formula Ford, the Firestone Firehawk Endurance Championship, and the Players GM and Corvette Challenge Series, among many others.  Peter has amassed a vast level of motorsport experience, and has competed in more than 40 road and street course events across North America.  His experience as a driver encompasses short sprint races all the way up to more than a dozen starts in 12 and 24-hour endurance races.

During his lengthy racing career, Peter has also owned and operated his own team.  He competed primarily as a gentleman driver throughout his career, while maintaining a full-time career as an executive.  His business connections resulted in significant multiyear sponsorships from major corporations such as Esso, Sony, Sunoco and Magna.  In addition to his driving duties, Peter has taught and mentored young, up-and-coming drivers including Mark Wilkins and Kuno Wittmer.

Peter was very involved in helping Kuno Wittmer rise from a World Challenge Touring Car driver to a GT racer, a transition that would eventually lead to Kuno winning the driver’s championship in the GTLM class of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in 2014.  “Peter has contributed at least as much to Canadian Motorsport as he’s taken.  He is a great ambassador of the sport,” says Rolf von Englebrechten, one of Peter’s rivals in the Firestone Firehawk Endurance Championship in the early 1990s.
